Question: I have a Samsung 970 Pro 1TB M.2 Hard disks and regularly it runs at over 50*C.
I know its not the drive i had a 512GB WD Black M.2 that did the same.
So why do they run so hot and can anything be done to cool it?
Thanks.

M.2 SSDs are more compact and have no help from case like SATA disks do. Actually it’s controller chip on them that heats up more than memory chip so data itself is not in danger. NVME being faster also gets hotter just like other electronics for same reason. 50c is not too high or anything extraordinary for such drives.
