Question: I recently remove a mechanical hard drive from my laptop and replaced it with a ssd. I used samsung magician and did the clone thingy and every thing went Perfect.
So I get the idea to use the expelled hard drive as a storage drive.
So when I hook up the sata 3 USB cable back to the laptop it doesn’t read it.
Is this normal

Answer:2.5 inch HDD?

Have you tried the storage drive on other computers?

You may need to put the HDD into an external enclosure that converts the SATA HDD to USB.

And being a HDD you probably need an external enclosure that is independently powered.

What specific Sata 3 USB cable did you use/buy?

I have one of these adapters:

Does not need external power. However, I have only connected it to desktops.
