Question: Hello,
I recently built my pc with a 2tb HDD and a 512 gb m.2 ssd. When I was first installing windows the only drive that showed up was my HDD so I had to download windows on this. The problem with this is that my HDD is kind of a cheap one and isn’t near as fast as my m.2 will be. I was wondering if there was anyway to move windows from my HDD to my SSD without losing my files. Even if I have to lose my files that’s ok as well.
Answer:You cannot move just the OS. You must move the entire contents, which means that the new drive must either be equal or larger than the existing drive or you will have to pare down the data to 3/4 or less of the size of the new drive.
