Question: I have an older AMD based system, with two hard drives, an SSD running Windows 10 and programs, and a storage drive.

Twice now in the last week, I’ve had the same issue. My computer will crash and show the screens attached, indicating a disk read error.
It asks me to ctrl alt del, and then will boot, show the motherboard screen, but then goes back to the error message. Here’s what I’ve done both times:
powered off, unplugged, waited five minutes, plugged back in, powered back up – Still has same issue both times on reboot.powered off, opened up case, physically disconnected and reconnected drives from motherboard – This solved the issue both times.Any idea what’s going on? I am not having any other obvious issues, no weird drive sounds, etc. I just upgraded to Windows 10 from 7, but I can’t recall if the first time this happened was before or after. I haven’t made any other hardware changes. Drive issue? Windows issue? motherboard issue?

Many thanks in advance

Answer:

… why dvd reader is on sata 5 and drive are sata 1 and 2 .

I always install Optical dries on the end of the Sata ports. I want my boot drive on Port 0 (1 in some boards) and my storage drive on port and the save the next two ports for more hdd’s. Where do you install optical drives?
