Question: I have a Western Digital Elements WDBAAU0010HBK External Hard Drive. I’ve not used it for a year or so, but connected it and powered it up today with the aim of finding what is on the drive, but I cannot ‘see’ it on File Explorer – that is to say there is no Drive letter – although the drive is shown on Device Manager, and drivers appear up to date.

Am I doing something wrong or looking in the wrong place?

Thanks in advance for any advice

Answer:Can you assign a drive letter? If that isn’t possible we recommend changing the cables and using the drive on another computer.

Could you also test the drive with the diagnostic software of the manufacturer.
