Question: I have a 2 tb laptop HDD. I used a case to use it on my pc. Recently it started disconnecting and reconnecting suddenly. Which causes apps and games to restart. It shows a yellow triangle in task manager saying device install requested. Does uninstalling the HDD erase data on it?
Answer:Sounds like a loose port or it could be the drive dying but I’d say the port you’re using is starting to be loose.
That would explain why the drive is being disconnected and reconnected all the time. The cable move inside the port. The port is loose and it lose connection.
Uninstalling an HDD from device manager won’t erase any data on it.
