Question: 0
I just bought dell g5 3 weeks ago and since i started using it, i noticed that the hard drive makes some noise, clicking noise, ever 10/15 sec. I ran some diagnostics and its all okay. i also made some search and i found that it is okay if the hard drive makes some clicking noise every 5 seconds or when it boots. But a week ago, the laptop started freezing every 10 minutes or longer for a half of a second, i notice some lagging or an unusual sound i am playing any media. Is is all okay? do i need to replace the hard drive?

Answer:

what about the diagnostics?
it shows that its all okay. it is all about that noise and some websites say that it might be normal

There is normal use clicking and then there is not normal use clicking. You almost only hear a HDD clicking when it is working hard, like booting the computer/logging into the OS. After that you almost never hear it until it has to work again. If it happens every 10-15 seconds that isn’t normal. Usually that is a sign that the HDD is starting to fail.
