Question: I have 2 hard drives, one is WD Black 500GB(current windows drive) and other is 2TB WD Blue(data drive). Both drives has 2 partition each.
I wanted to change the 500gb to an Samsung 860 ssd and do a clean installation of windows 10 in the ssd.
I know I should remove other drives except the drive that is used to install the windows 10, but what happen if i detach my drives and attach it later? will it lose partition and data in it? Or the partition and data is still there when plugging it back?

Answer:Formatting means – you loose your data.
If you want to keep your old data, then do not format.
