Question: I’ve got a Hp pavilion gaming 15 laptop, and the 1tb 5,400rpm hard disk failed.
I noticed many times that the disk usage would go upto 100% and the laptop would freeze. And finally it got bust so my laptop wouldn’t boot up to windows.
Now I’m gonna buy an m.2 nvme SSD (or) sata SSD to replace the hard disk. But I’m unsure as to how to install windows 10 in the new SSD.
Cloning win 10 from the hdd to SSD is not possible since I cannot access the hdd at all. So i think I will remove the old hdd and fix the new SSD then continue on my process of installing windows 10.
So how do I install windows 10 into the new SSD?
Maybe use a bootable usb drive?
And can I install windows by just fixing the SSD inside the laptop or is it necessary to have an external dock to install the os?

Answer:On another PC, download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB

You should be able to install by putting ssd inside case.
