Question: Ok so I built this computer about four months ago and it s always had problems with windows. After all the problems I ve had with it I wonder if getting a new hard drive, and throwing away the other would give me a fresh start. I also wonder if already having used windows with the other parts would have left some sort of imprint.
Answer:Storage (HDD or SSD) is rarely the culprit of system instability. Most vendors provide test utilities where you can tst whether your drive is OK.
Start fresh. Format the drive, install Windows, then minimal apps, and check stability.
