- Our 7 year old Mac Book Pro had the gray screen of death on day, so we took it to Apple Store where they tested for free, said hard drive was bad. Replacement was easy and the new hard drive was pre-loaded with Yosemite OS. Installation was easy after watching Utube on how to remove and install a hard drive. Once installed, it took 5 minutes to have it up and running, following the walk thru prompts. Before, computer had become sluggish with old OS and Safari was pretty much useless, had to switch to Chrome for browser but it also was not updated for the OS we had (10.3.9). Now, it’s like having a new computer! Very pleased.
